I get up in the morning
I have chores to do
but waking you up from sleep
is the one thing I look forward to!
Your peaceful face,
that little smile
Hands up above,
as posing in style
The gentle flow of breath,
with your slightly open mouth
“You are truly blessed”
says my soul in love
You perceive my presence
And roll onto my side
Your fingers run my cheeks
You know they’re mine
Bringing you closer,
I smile and change track
“Sleep my little baby” I whisper
“I will always have your back!”
