Happy Teacher’s Day!! It is true how teachers play a role in building your first interest in books. I was blessed to have a teacher in my mum who introduced me to some beautiful books that influenced the way I looked at life. Putting down a few in this post and also my ambitious reading list for 2022
I’m not a book worm. But I like to pick a book when I want to move away from the chaos of regular life. A good story strengthens my imagination, teaches me new things and inspires me to take new approaches to life’s simplest problems.
I never read books with the intention to learn new words or make new sentences. As a child, my mom often assigned this most difficult task. She wanted me to build on my vocabulary. I didn’t want to take a second away from reading.
So there were books that I picked up to impress her for the words and phrases I learnt from them and then there were others that were meant solely for my enjoyment.
My favourite books have mostly been from the crime and fiction genres. Agatha Christie, Perry Mason, Jane Austin, L.M Montgomery, Robin Cook, Mary Higgins Clark were the authors I ran to when I needed a world beyond my monotonous routine. But as I am growing older, I am also taking refuge in many self-help ones.
I know it’s a little early but I am hoping to be more regular in reading from 2022. So I thought of collating a list of books that are my all-time favourites, new ones that I read this year and books that I want to read in 2022.
This list is diverse. Mostly because I get curious about many things in general and then pursue it to my heart’s content. It is a reflection of my interests and aspirations, in other words.
I have linked all these books to Amazon (I am an Amazon affiliate) but I encourage you to shop local as much as you can.
Hope you do get some inspiration here!
